Bénodet has long proved to be a popular resort, with its attractive waterfront once the domain of fishermen, now a thriving yachting centre that really comes alive at night. The beautiful sandy beaches of Bénodet are within walking distance of the campsite and no doubt watersport enthusiasts will enjoy the windsurfing and sailing available there. Whilst there, take in the stunning views across the harbour and out to the open seas from the Phare de la Pyramide lighthouse. For a less strenuous time, sit at one of the cafés along the promenade or take the boat trip from the port upstream to Quimper or by sea to Concarneau.
The site is situated just half a mile from the bustling marina of Bénodet, a popular resort with attractive waterfront and many cafes and restaurants. Children will love the swimming pool and waterslide, edged by a spacious sun terrace. Campsite staff organise evening entertainment for the whole family, and there is a bar, restaurant and late night disco available from June. Beautiful sandy beaches are just a short walk from the campsite, where watersports are available.
Brittany retains much of it's traditions and folklore, making it a delightful region to explore. Medieval Quimper, just ten miles away, can be easily reached by a pleasant boat ride along the river Odet . Auray is a medieval river port with a maze of cobbled streets. Nearby is Pont l'Abbé, a busy market town where you may still see local women wearing traditional costume.
