Chateau des Ormes is widely regarded as having the best facilities of any campsite in France.

Set in the grounds of an elegant chateau on a vast country estate of wooded parkland and lakes, with an exceptional range of facilities, this is one of the most sought after camping locations in France. Château des Ormes is also a member of the prestigious Castels chain and carries a ‘Michelin' 5 red tent category. The highest accolade awarded to any campsite.
The campsite is surrounded by gently rolling farmland with pretty wooded areas. This is a family run site ideal for families, especially those with teenagers, as the extensive facilities and nightlife are guaranteed to keep everyone entertained.
An exciting tropical pool complex with a brand new indoor lagoon pool with water slides planned for 2007. Both pool complex's are complete with waterslides and waterfalls to keep the whole family amused for hours whether it be bright sunshine or cloudy days.
The new indoor leisure complex makes Chateau des Ormes an attractive proposition in May, June & September when good weather is not always guaranteed. Golfers will be spoilt by the superb 18-hole golf course and driving range. The golf course has a separate clubhouse bar & restaurant which is also available for guests of the campsite.
Chateau des Ormes also operate a fabulous equestrian centre, which caters for all abilities from horse back rides around the estate to indoor and outdoor show jumping arena. The estate has many lakes throughout most of which are retained as wildlife sanctuaries, however guests are invited to take a pedalo or canoe to explore the lake in front of the Chateau. Another lake is reserved for those dedicated to fishing. The campsite has two tennis courts and also provides weekly archery in July & August. A unique favourite with the children is the ‘Tree Top Adventure’ course. Set amongst the wooded area a course of high wires and rope slides making a thrilling afternoons entertainment.
In the evenings the campsite is also a lively place. Chateau des Ormes boasts 4 bars, 3 restaurants and a Pizzeria/takeaway. The main bar has a friendly lively ambience often with live music. A quiet relaxing drink can be found at the cocktail bar (July & August) or the clubhouse bar. In addition Campsite quests are welcomed at the hotel bar. Al fresco dining is offered at the clubhouse and hotel whilst the campsite has a separate restaurant.
The campsite organise weekly shows in the ‘amp theatre’ and the children always find the disco great fun.
Chateau des Ormes really does have something for all the family. A great location for an active family holiday.
Chateau des Ormes is well located for easy access. You can take the ferry from Portsmouth or Weymouth to St Malo or just slightly further away but quicker overall is the ferry to Caen from Portsmouth. Alternatively low cost flights are available from Manchester, Belfast, Exeter & Southampton to Rennes (www.flybe.com) just 30 mins from the campsite or alternatively from East Midlands & Stansted to Dinard (www.ryanair.com) just 20 mins from the campsite.
